Additional costs for all options
The cost of your Official Marriage Certificate is approximately $70, should you apply yourself, however if you would like Chiquita to arrange this, add $100, which includes your Official Certificate, postage and handling.
If your marriage takes place outside of the Tweed, Byron or Gold Coast, travel fees will be discussed before you lock me in.
If you wish to have a rehearsal in person at your venue prior to your marriage, add approximately $200, location dependent. Most couples opt for a phone rehearsal the week prior to their wedding day, which is at no additional cost. Read more about the benefits of phone rehearsals.
How it works
Marriage is incredibly uncomplicated in Australia. You’ll need to:
- be free, willing and able to marry
- show your celebrant certain original items of your identity documentation
- complete and provide your Celebrant with a Notice of Intended Marriage form, at least one month before your chosen wedding date
- have two witnesses present at the wedding, that are over 18 years of age, who can hear and understand the ceremony
- say a particular sentence within your vows, and the celebrant must also say a few sentences!
There are so many unique circumstances and requests, please ask if you have any questions.
Fee inclusions
- Ceremony planning meeting (in person or over Google Meet).
- Taking care of your legal paperwork required to marry.
- The writing of your ceremony draft and subsequent amendments.
- Unlimited email and phone calls in the lead up to your wedding.
- Writing your vows or tailoring them with you.
- Providing your vows on beautiful cards for the day of your wedding.
- Supply of an elegant Swarovski pen during signing.
- Supply of a public address speaker and microphone for your ceremony to be heard, and for ceremony music to be played through.
- Brief you over the phone a week or two before your wedding day.
- Arriving to your wedding one hour prior to the start time, and conducting your ceremony.

Did you know? A Registry Office marriage (where the couple and their witnesses travel to the office of Births Deaths and Marriages in their preferred capital city to be married) costs between $500 – $1300, depending on which state you marry in.
